Pacific Islands Development Bank is happy to welcome back Chuuk State representation on both the PIDB Board of Governors and Board of Directors. A special virtual meeting of the Board of Governors was held on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, during which Chuuk State’s status was revisited and a quorum of the members of the PIDB Board of Governors unanimously voted to lift the suspension that was placed on Chuuk State’s membership. Representing Chuuk State on the PIDB Board of Governors are the Honorable Governor Alexander Narruhn and the Honorable Lester D. Mersai, Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 17th Chuuk State Legislature. Both Governor Narruhn and Speaker Mersai have jointly appointed the Honorable Andrew A. May, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 17th Chuuk State Legislature to represent the state on the PIDB Board of Directors.

A suspension was placed on Chuuk States membership by the Board of Governors through a letter dated February 7th, 2011 due to not having met their capital share installment obligations as scheduled and as required in accordance with Article 7 of the Articles of Agreement Establishing the PIDB.
