A regional development bank headquartered in Guam and providing lending services to communities across the North Pacific including the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, and the Marshall Islands, is seeking qualified applicants to join a dynamic team for the following positions:


Loan Officer

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Maintain current loan portfolio and develop new clients and business opportunities.
  • Structure, underwrite and present loan requests in accordance with loan policies and procedures. Negotiate loan terms and conditions, and structure credit with recommendations for improving access to credit and capital.
  • Lead loan department in meeting annual loan goals and target.
  • Maintain a quality loan portfolio and meet loan delinquency goals. Identify problem loans and recommend workout options.
  • Prepare required loan reports in a timely manner and present to management.
  • Utilize sales and marketing expertise or techniques to build a portfolio of prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of bank loan products and services. Training will be provided.
  • Actively participate in networking functions and events when assigned to enhance the bank’s visibility in the market.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

General Requirements and Skills:

  • College degree in business, finance, economics or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in commercial, residential, or consumer lending.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are needed to underwrite and monitor loans.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain loan products and services.
  • Personable with strong management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Research and strong analytical skills.
  • Computer skills required. Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing applications.
  • Goal oriented with demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and personal integrity.

Loan Collections Specialist

The Pacific Islands Development Bank (PIDB) is seeking a dedicated Loan Collections Specialist to join our team in Guam. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the soundness of our loan portfolio by working directly with borrowers to manage delinquent accounts, negotiate repayment solutions, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Monitoring and following up on delinquent accounts.
  • Communicating with borrowers to arrange repayment solutions.
  • Preparing regular collection reports and supporting management oversight.
  • Collaborating with loan officers and management to resolve overdue accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in loan collections or financial services.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing and regulatory compliance.
  • Computer proficiency; bilingual abilities a plus.

Loan Application & Servicing Support Ambassador

Position Overview

The Loan Application & Servicing Support Ambassador role provides remote, as-needed assistance to the Pacific Islands Development Bank lending team, specifically supporting loans in The Republic of the Marshall Islands and helping with borrower and stakeholder communications.

This role ensures smooth intake, processing, and servicing of Marshall Islands loan applications, while also strengthening communication channels with borrowers, guarantors, and relevant stakeholders in The Republic of the Marshall Islands. The ideal candidate is responsive, detail-oriented, and culturally attuned to working with borrowers in island communities.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Loan Application & Servicing

  • Assist with intake, review, and processing of the Marshall Islands loan applications.
  • Verify completeness of documentation and communicate with applicants regarding missing or additional requirements.
  • Support servicing activities such as repayment tracking, delinquency follow-ups, and borrower record updates.
  • Prepare summaries and loan status reports for the Loan Officer and management.

Communication & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a point of contact for the Marshall Islands borrowers and provide timely updates and professional assistance.
  • Support borrower outreach regarding loan terms, repayment schedules, and servicing requirements.
  • Coordinate communications between PIDB headquarters and borrowers/partners as needed.
  • Assist with borrower education on loan servicing policies and repayment responsibilities.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic files for loan portfolios.
  • Support preparation of reports, notices, and correspondence for RMI stakeholders, as needed.
  • Assist PIDB staff during peak workload periods or when additional outreach is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, lending, or financial services, and knowledge of Ebeye and Majuro communities.
  • Strong communication skills in English (fluency in Marshallese preferred).
  • Familiarity with loan processing, repayment tracking, and servicing practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable with digital records management.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently.
  • Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity in handling financial and personal information.

Work Conditions

  • Location: Remote, based in Ebeye with reliable internet access.
  • Schedule: As-needed basis, flexible hours depending on assignments.
  • Employment Type: Contractual.

Compensation

  • Hourly or project-based compensation, commensurate with experience.
